After the Haarlemmermeer lake was drained in the middle of the 19th century, two settlements were founded: Hoofddorp and Nieuw-Vennep. Initially, the village of Nieuw-Vennep was called Venneperdorp, getting its current name in 1868. And you can still see that Nieuw-Vennep is genuinely a village. It has a typical village atmosphere, a real community life, and most of the facilities are within walking distance, so you will quickly feel at home here.
